I continue to upgrade NEO’s rating by reviewing project’s “Tokenomics” (Sustainability- Value- Engagement- Transactions).

NEO token’s has been devalued far under the majority of coins/ tokens from the top 100 (“Sustainability”: c). Most recently, of course, it goes up again with the rest of the market. However, with this project in a stall there’s a low expectation for its “Value” to increase independently of general hype cycles. Still, NEO today’s price (~$15) is far above their ICO’s one (~3 cents). Hence, my rating “c” with “+”.

It means I’ll be watching for a possibility to upgrade it to “b” if NEO team demonstrates the will to fight for dominance with its rising competitors resulting in the new market strategy, faster adaption and better tech.

NEO is traded on some popular exchanges and has, out-dated, but, still, easy-to-use wallet (“Transactions”: b-). However, it has dramatically fall out of fashion. On a positive side, one of the main differentiation of NEO, which might attract and retain new users to its platform is that NEO hodlers keep receiving steady stream of annuity (in GAZ) on their holdings. (“Engagement”: c+)

NEO also intends to stimulate its holders by paying NEO to them for personal information disclosure (KYC). Not sure that model might work under the present political and legal regimes. However that’s one of the good examples of how new DLT economy might be self-regulated.

Result: “Tokenomics” (Sustainability- Value- Engagement- Transactions): cc+b+b
